"A tool as comprehensive and flexible as TSDS that assesses students' knowledge and skills in science provides educators an unprecedented profile of student performance. Armed with these profiles, local and district educators can determine gaps in teaching and learning in science, and effectively intervene to strengthen their instructional programs, ultimately ensuring student success, both academically and beyond."

ARDTP :: Success Stories
A Mid-Atlantic state with 1.2 million K-12 students teamed with Vantage Learning to create a state-specific Algebra Readiness Diagnostic Test, an online computer adaptive diagnostic test for Grades 4-9. The program generated immediate and reliable diagnostic feedback across five mathematic strands including Number and Number Sense, Computation and Estimation, Measurement and Geometry, Probability and Statistics, and Patterns, Functions and Algebra. Used as a "pre-" and "post-" testing tool, students would take an adaptive exam at the beginning of the school year to determine strengths and weaknesses; the assessment was taken again near the end of the school year to determine the progress that has been made. Between pre- and post-assessments, students took "strand" tests to chart progress within specific standards. Over the course of the project, Vantage delivered approximately 400,000 online tests for this client. During the 2005-2006 school year, the program had the highest peak volume in the program's history, with 95,795 exams administered.
