Bend Educators Receive Technology Grant

October 1, 2009

-Today's OEA

In September, students, educators, and district administrators at Cascade Middle School in Bend, Ore., learned they’d be receiving a $15,400 grant to improve the school’s educational technology. The funding comes as a part of the Vantage Learning Keystone Partner Program, which will give over $250 thousand in grants, endowments, and subsidies to 10 districts throughout the nation.

The grant money will be used to install a signature MY Access! online writing program, proven to help students improve their writing proficiency and overall results on mandatory state exams. The program will give significant educational funding to districts throughout the country that are dealing with the current economy and increased budget restrictions, as they look to incorporate educational technology into the classroom this year.
